The Loose Women studio turned awkward on Tuesday afternoon as Janet Street-Porter and Coleen Nolan exchanged barbs on the ITV show.

The TV presenters were joined by Kaye Adams and Brenda Edwards on the ITV panel during the shorter half hour show.

Loose Women were reflecting on their different family lives during a discussion of whether they resent taking care of their elderly relatives.

Janet opened up about her own relationships with family after her mother and aunt died, saying she spent “too much of my life” rowing with her mum.

She said: “When my mum died, I was close to my auntie. But when my auntie died recently I made the decision to work harder on my relationships with my two cousins, her two sons.”

Janet told the panellists her cousins visiting in July, after which Coleen swiped: “I bet they don’t last until the end of July.”

She added: “It’s too easy in families to go, ‘I live here and you live there, it’s too hard to visit’.

“So I said, ‘Come and stay with me’. I decided to make the effort, because you have to, otherwise your family just drifts away.”

Janet then told the panellists that her cousins are coming to visit her in July, after which Coleen cheekily swiped: “I bet they don’t last until the end of July.”

The Loose Women panel collapsed with laughter at the joke, before Janet replied: “I’d like to say if either of my cousins are watching, don’t take any notice of Coleen. She’s bitter and twisted.”

Coleen then looked at the Loose Women camera and said to Janet’s cousins: “Actually, phone me. I’ll let you know what you’re in for.”

This comes after Charlene White and Jane Moore clashed over the government’s plan to send migrants to Rwanda on Loose Women on Monday.

Coleen then looked at the Loose Women camera and said to Janet’s cousins: “Actually, phone me. I’ll let you know what you’re in for.”

The pair were joined by Frankie Bridge and Linda Robson on the ITV show, where they debated the UK government’s decision to trial sending migrants to Rwanda to have their papers processed.

During the chat, Charlene admitted she felt different sectors of migrants were being “treated differently” as she questioned why the government appeared to welcome Ukrainian families into the country, but acted differently with others.

She said: “It feels as though not all migrants are the same. We treat one sector migrants slightly different from another.”

However, Jane quickly jumped in, insisting that it was different because not all came from war torn countries.

“But not all of them come from a war torn country, a lot of them are coming – and I don’t blame them. Listen, if I lived in a country that was economically much more substandard than this one and I wanted a better life, I’d absolutely try and get into those countries,” she said, “But a lot of them are not coming from war torn countries, they’re coming to get a better life, and I can’t blame them for that.

“But if that better life is to the detriment of people already living here -“

She was cut off by Charlene, who began to speak, before Jane finished off her point.

“People already here, if that’s to the detriment of their lives,” she added.
