Trump repeated false claims and falsely claimed the election was “fixed and stolen” in his 12-page re***al of the evidence.
“Seventeen months after the events of January 6th, Democrats are unable to offer any solutions,” Trump said in the statement, released through his Save America PAC. “They are desperate to change the narrative of a failing nation without even mentioning the devastation and death wrought by the far left just months earlier. Make no mistake, they control the government. You own this catastrophe. They hope that these hearings will somehow change their failed prospects.”
Trump called the hearings a “charade” and referred to the committee as the “unselect committee.”
“This whole Unselect Committee farce is a brazen attempt to divert public attention from the truth. The truth is, on January 6, 2021, Americans turned out in large numbers (but seldom revealed by the press) in Washington, DC to hold their elected officials accountable for the apparent signs of criminal activity during the election. Those who are supposed to be civil servants use the power of the government against the people who have entrusted them with power. We were scammed,” he wrote.
The hearing scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed with conflicting reasons for the delay

The committee’s third hearing, originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 15, will focus on an alleged conspiracy by former President Donald Trump to or possibly replace, the US Attorney General in an attempt to lend legitimacy to false election claims, according to the Washington Post. The Post reported that Jeff Rosen, then-US Attorney General, will testify along with his deputy Richard Donoghue and Justice Department official Steve Engel. The testimony of the three men is scheduled for the morning of June 15th.
“Rosen was the nation’s top law enforcement official during Trump’s final days in office. He was pressured by Trump allies to send a Justice Department letter to state officials about false allegations of voter fraud — thereby giving them legitimacy — and declined,” the Post reported.
Each hearing day will feature a theme, the Post reported. The subject of Wednesday’s hearing is to provide evidence that Trump “corruptly plotted” to replace acting Justice Department officials with people who were his allies.
The hearing will resume on Thursday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. The formal timeline for subsequent hearing dates has not yet been announced.
Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., told reporters on Capitol Hill that they had no problems with witnesses, but that they were canceling the day of the hearing because of “technical problems, according to ABC News.
“It’s just technical problems. I mean, we were, you know, the staff that put all the videos together, you know, and did 1-2-3. It was overwhelming, so we’re trying to give them a little space,” she said. “It’s not a big deal.”
Lofgren said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe that there is a production strain. “…putting together the video exhibits is a strenuous exercise for our very small video team…it’s just too much to put together,” said Lofgren.
However, a committee ***istant told ABC that the ***essment was incorrect and that the hearing “has been rescheduled to meet schedule requirements.” The committee then issued a statement saying, “The postponement is due to a number of planning factors, including the timing of production and the availability of members and witnesses.”
Aguilar said the schedule for the hearings was “always fluid”.
“We’re going to go ahead and have a hearing on Thursday and then also prepare for the hearings next week,” Aguilar said. “As I said, it remains fluid and we are preparing for Thursday. We just want to make sure you all have the time and space to digest all of the information that we are releasing.”
